Empowered Families
Empowering generations starts at home.
God gave parents the first and best opportunity to pass faith on to their children, through ordinary days around the table, in the car, and at bedtime. At Cowee, we want to walk beside you in that calling: equipping you, praying for you, and celebrating each step as your children grow. Wherever your family is today, you can begin with the next faithful step.
“These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up.” Deuteronomy 6:6–7 (NASB 1995)
Everyday Discipleship: Time · Moments · Milestones
Begin with the end in mind. Picture your child as an adult who loves Jesus,
and let that hope shape the everyday.
Time
Set aside regular “God time” as a family to read Scripture, sing, and pray together. It will look different in every home, and that’s okay. What matters is that it’s intentional and consistent.
Moments
Watch for everyday moments, the highs and the lows, that open the door to gospel conversations. Celebrating a win, comforting a hurt, or saying “I was wrong, will you forgive me?” can teach more than a lesson plan.
Milestones
Plan to mark the big transitions in your child’s life. At each milestone, Cowee offers a class and a parent guide to help you prepare well and remember God’s faithfulness.
The Milestone Path
Each milestone includes a parent guide you can download anytime, and a church family that is cheering you on. Our Milestones That Matter parent classes are offered once a year in the fall.
Parent–Child Dedication
Ages: Birth to toddler
Dedication is a public commitment before God, your family, and your church to raise your child in the instruction of the Lord, and our church’s promise to walk with you. It isn’t baptism and doesn’t save a child. It’s a family’s first step toward a home where the gospel is taught, lived, and welcomed.

The Early Years
Ages: Toddler to preschool
The early years are full of discovery and demands. This guide helps parents build simple, gospel-centered rhythms: a Bible story, a bedtime prayer, a loving boundary, an honest “I’m sorry.” You don’t need a perfect home to begin; start where you are.

First Day of School
Ages: Kindergarten, then revisit each new school year
Whether your child attends public school, private school, or learns at home, starting school changes your family’s rhythm. Celebrate the new season, build a few sustainable routines, and send your child out with prayer and a blessing, aiming for a child who grows in wisdom and kindness, not just good grades.

Ages: Any age; often the elementary years
There’s nothing more exciting than seeing your child trust Jesus. This milestone walks families through four steps: trust Christ, talk and prepare with a pastor, follow Him in baptism, and keep growing with the church. Questions are always welcome.
Download the GuidePreparing for Adolescence
Ages: Preteens, about grades 5–6
Adolescence brings changes in body, emotions, friendships, and faith. This milestone equips parents to lead the conversation: explaining God’s good design, preparing for puberty, building trust, and making home a safe place for honest questions.
