Jesus Calms a Storm
Discussion Questions:
1. Why were the disciples afraid during the storm?
Answer: They were afraid because the storm was so bad they thought they were going to die.
2. How did Jesus calming the storm show the disciples He is God?
Answer: As soon as the disciples saw Jesus calm the storm, they realized Jesus was no ordinary man. Jesus is God and only God has power over all creation.
3. What is faith? Did the disciples show faith in the storm? Why or why not?
Answer: Faith is believing that God exists and that He has told us about Himself and His word. Faith pleases God. Jesus pointed out the disciples’ lack of faith because they feared for their lives in the storm. God can be trusted at all times, and when we trust in Him we display faith in who He is and in His promises.
