- What problem did you hear about in the story?
Answer: The King of Israel, Jeroboam, was afraid that if the people kept returning to Jerusalem to worship the Lord at the temple, they would eventually turn back to Rehoboam as their king. So, Jeroboam built golden cow statues for the people to worship instead.
