Discussion Questions:

  1. Do you remember how Gideon tested God?

Answer: Gideon tested God by laying out a fleece. In the morning, if the fleece was wet and the ground dry, Gideon would believe that God was with him. God did it! But this still wasn’t enough for Gideon. So he tested God again. This time, he would believe God was with him if the fleece was dry and the ground around it was wet. Even though Gideon’s faith was weak, God wasn’t annoyed by his requests. God gave Gideon the signs he asked for. Gideon went on to lead the Israelites to victory. Gideon learned that victory

comes from God alone.

  1. Where did Samson get his strength?

Answer: Samson’s great strength came from God alone. The Spirit of the Lord would come upon Samson, and he was able to do things no one else could do. Apart from God, Samson was weak. He had no power to defeat the Philistines on his own. Samson was not a good man. He was selfish and acted out of anger rather than wisdom. But even though he was spiritually weak, God used Samson for God’s glory.
