Jason is passionate about seeing people discipled and walking in God’s unique plan for their lives. His story is one of God’s amazing grace: after years of calling himself a Christian without a real relationship with Christ, he was saved in 2002 while chaperoning students at a youth conference, and he has never been the same. He longs to see every person made complete in Christ (Colossians 1:28–29).
After years in student ministry, Jason became Senior Pastor of Cowee in July 2016. He is committed to expositional preaching, generally working verse by verse through books of the Bible to uncover what each passage meant in its context and faithfully apply it today. He holds a business degree from WCU and a Master of Divinity in Homiletics from Liberty University.
Jason and Sherry married in 1997 and have two children, Hope and Grant. A certified Prepare-Enrich facilitator and SYMBIS-trained counselor, he loves helping marriages and families thrive. He serves on the Pastoral Leadership Team for Heart for Families and the Board of Directors for Men’s Challenge of the Smokies. Outside of ministry, he enjoys fly fishing, camping, and time with his family.
