Happy Thanksgiving

Jason Smith   -

Happy Thanksgiving Cowee,

Just wanted to send a quick note wishing you a Happy Thanksgiving! I was reading Psalm 103 this morning and was reminded of all that we have to be thankful for! As that Psalm begins, David says “Bless the Lord, O my Soul, and forget none of His benefits.” Maybe David was a bit weary and was needing to refocus in the moments he was writing. Perhaps his current circumstances had caused him to lose focus on his many blessings. As the Psalmist looked within, his soul was stirred with the reminder of God’s many blessings that He had bestowed upon him.

This Psalm reminds us not to forget all the blessings that God has so graciously extended to us. Through this Psalm, I was reminded of the blessings of God’s forgiveness (v3), of His healing (v3), of His redemption (v4), of His amazing grace and mercy (v8), and among other blessings, His sovereignty (v19). We can rest knowing our great God is in control and  that He is working.

David closes with a call for all creation to declare the Glory of God and to join together in praising the Lord. May we join in praise to our great God.  We have much to praise and thank Him for!

For me, one of those things is each of you! I am so blessed to be your pastor and I love you all!  Happy Thanksgiving from my family to yours.
