Intentional Discipleship Training

Intentional Discipleship Training

Thanks so much for checking out this page! We are excited about the model (the dream disciple) – described as a daily abiding, regularly sharing, intentionally discipling, force for good. What we are suggesting below is what we believe is a great method for seeing accelerated transformation in a group designed just for that. The information that follows will share the why and our suggestion of how all this takes place. The handouts for the training below are linked just below the video.

2024 Reading Plan

After you have watched the video above, you probably have a better idea of what our intentional discipleship, or intentional d-group model, might look like. If you are thinking of leading a group, keep reading!  You will also find some great resources from Replicate Ministries on inviting others to a group – and some tips for the first few weeks.

We are so grateful that you are considering leading a d-group. Over the past few years we have learned some important things. One of those came from a deep conviction in my personal life that I was not, even as your pastor, living practically to make disciples. I began to read books, took a class as part of my seminary classes, and began to engage with our staff as to what the future might look like.

One thing was clear through all these studies and books: an effective discipleship strategy is not based on a curriculum or program. Effective discipleship strategies are based on intentional relationships around the Word of God that have a purpose of seeing every person mature in Christ (Col. 1:28).

We started some groups, but in that process I failed to equip those as well as I should have. The Lord has continued to stir our hearts to make disciples who are empowered to make disciples. As I thought about what worked well and didn’t in groups I led and were connected to I came across these videos from Replicate Ministries. They did an incredible job of breaking down a step by step process of forming a group, how the first few weeks could look, and what a regular meeting might look like. The group from Replicate has been working with 1000’s of churches to implement effective discipleship strategies and are looked to as the leading equippers in this area.

If you would like to lead a d group, we desire to come alongside you in any way we can. The videos below will be a start to that process. The starter guide linked below could be another great tool that will get your groups going the right direction. We would be happy to provide these guides, and most of all to be praying for you as you pray for those you would invite into this journey. A journey that will make Kingdom impact the way Jesus has modeled and called us to follow.

If you are interested in starting a group, I want to be praying and help in anyway I can. Shoot me an email and let me know. I look forward to praying and helping in anyway I can.  Email Pastor Jason

We are praying for you and those that God might direct you invite on this discipleship journey.
